I feel so blessed to be able to see things in a certain way, and capture them with a camera.
As a way of reaching out and sharing with others, I decided to join up with Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep as a volunteer photographer with them. Through them, I will be able to provide Remembrance photography for parents who have lost babies. I thought about this for months before committing to it, but it was remembering my good friend Michele's story from last year that finally decided it for me.
Michele delivered her daughter Georgie at 15 weeks. Recently, when I mentioned I was going to apply with NILMDTS, she told me the story of how she happened to be alone in her room when Georgie arrived, and she had no one to take pictures. The ones she was able to get were quite small and blurry, and she didn't really feel she was able to show them off to others.
I offered to do what I could with them in Photoshop, and what you see here is the final result. Michele was so pleased - at last, she was able to have a photo of Georgie to put with the pictures of her other children. Her heartfelt thanks truly touched my heart, and it was at that moment that I knew offering my services to NILMDTS was the right thing to do.
The site is here. If you have time and some tissues to spare, please take a look at the slideshow and testimonials. This organization does such incredible things for hurting families, and with over 3000 photographers worldwide, we're in a place to help mamas and daddies all over the world remember the faces of their little angels.
I'm proud to be part of something so special.

you might think looking at my work that I am an unemotional deranged psycho mountain man.
But if you saw me sobbing like my 3 year old going in for a doctor's visit after looking at your image, you would know otherwise.
Very good cause Cassie. Well done and honorable of you! Good Luck and be strong.
Oh, Aaron, I would never think you were unemotional. You can't create art the way you do without being deeply emotional.
Thanks for your encouragement. :)
